Production Company Name
To be able to name our own film production company, research needed to be done to find out what sorts of names are used for existing production companies. This is so that we could have a name that would appear striking when the audience see who produced the trailer, when they watch it. The following shows the research we did:
Legendary
The word "Legendary" is prominent and implies importance to people who look at this logo. This is a simple yet effective company name which is known by many. Legendary are an acclaimed company who have produced films such as Inception, the Batman series, The Hangover series, the 300 series and The Clash of the Titans series.

Universal
This name is striking and represents that the company is globally renowned because the name implies a diverse range of films produced all around the world. As well as this, the name connotes "The Universe" which is enormous, like the company. The logo is of the world with the word "Universal" in front of the world on screen and is my favourite out of all the company names I am analysing. Universal are an established company producing well known film such as, Furious 7, Gladiator, Jaws, King Kong, Jurassic World and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.

Paramount
The word Paramount means "more important than anything else" which demonstrates how as a company, Paramount believe they are above and beyond anyone else. An animated logo is used where stars fly towards a mountain to create a circle over the mountain for the title to be displayed in this circle, which is still iconic today. Paramount are a well renowned company having produced films such as, Interstellar, Titanic, World War Z, the Transformers series and Forrest Gump.

All three of the above companies have one word in their name, which is quite regular for a lot of film production companies, however, there are some recognised production companies whose names are more than one word.

20th Century Fox
20th Century Fox produces films as well as TV shows such as The Simpsons. Their name isn't a singular word which differs to the above three production companies, however, in my opinion the one word names are more striking and effective than 20th Century Fox's name. They have produced highly rated films such, Avatar, Deadpool, The Revenant, Marley & Me, Rise and Dawn of The Planet of The Apes and The Martian.

Warner Bros.
Warner Brothers are an established film producer. The name "Warner Bros." was used because it was literally set up by four brothers. The name isn't singular and doesn't have the same impact as the singular names above, but they have still been incredibly successful nonetheless. Warner Brothers have produced many well known films including, the Harry Potter series, American Sniper, The Hobbit trilogy, Gravity and Suicide Squad.
Overall, some of the most successful production companies use one word in their name, with the exception of some companies such as 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros. listed above. The singular names connote power and are imposing in appearance, as well as this, they are easy to remember which is why a lot of people around the world know the names of these production companies. We will likely follow the convention of a singular word used for the company name, but we could incorporate our two names into the companies name, like the Warner Brothers example.
