This information was used to identify what the magazine demographic should be. The previous page states what was identified. The target audience will be, based on this research, men and women, aged 18-24 who enjoy rock music, specifically classic rock.

From these interviewees, I decided to collect results on their favourite music genre so as to locate which participants' answers I could use and find beneficial in my location of a suitable target audience. I, therefore, continued to look into the opinions of the 11 subjects who favoured rock music as this is what I wished to base my magazine on. Furthermore, out of the participants who chose Rock as their favourite genre of music, I discovered that 6/11 were male and 4 female, leading me to the conclusion that my potential market may be aimed at both genders.

I asked this question due to the fact that I wished to refine the Magazine's focus in order to have a clear focus and allow the magazine to stand out and have a sence of individuality. In total, 9 participants stated that Classic Rock was their prefered type of rock music. I now know that 9/11 of rock fans specifically enjoy and engage in listening to this sub-genre; this is useful as I now have more direction for my magazines research and planning. Furthermore, of these 5 Classic Rock fans were female, supporting my ideas of having a gender-nuteral target market.

I chose to ask this question in order to identify the type of magazine which I should be looking at for research. This is because if i can identify a common style between the most popular magazines which the potential target audience reads I can create a magazine which they are likely to enjoy and want to read. As you can see, the magazine which was read the most out of all of the participants is Classic Rock Magazine, which is to be expected due to the number of people who enjoy the classic rock sub-genre, however, the magazines which my target audience of rock and classic rock fans were different. I concluded that the people in my identified target audience of 11 participants, 2 chose Kerrang!, 4 chose NME, and 5 chose Classic Rock, leading me to the conclusion that I should research all of these magazines in order to create a final product which they are likely to buy.
