Final Edited Photographs

All editing for the photographs was done using Adobe Photoshop.

For the front cover photograph I adjusted the brightness and contrast of the photograph to make it less under-exposed. Then I cut out the background using the select colour range, quick selection and magnetic lasso tool. After this I applied a gradient background to the image and I airbrushed the subject's face using a layer mask and a blur effect. Finally, I added a choker necklace to the image, furthering her persona and rock aesthetic.

For the contents page image, I removed the incosistancies and ash on the subject's clothing, using a sample tool to recreate the background colour exactly and removing the blemishes using the paint tool. I then added smoke to the image by using a sample photgraph and removing the background, douplicating the layer and adjusting the rotation and mirroring the image in order to create a more realistic and varied effect. I then used a layer mask and blur effect to airbrush the subject's face.

For the double page spread images, I, firstly, airbrushed the subject's skin using a layer mask and blur effect. I then selected the subject's background, using a combination of the quick select, select colour range and magnetic lasso tools in order to adjust the colour balance and hue in addition to darkening by adjusting the brightness and contrast it to create a dark red background.
